Program Logic Workshop

Program Logic Workshop

Fieldworx engagement and evaluation specialists Eleesa Johnstone and Sue Wright recently led a small workshop on program logic; what it is, how to do one and how it can help organisations, groups and businesses to be clear about what they do, why and how.

With Christmas on its way, the topic of choice for the workshop was presents and Christmas day gatherings, so Fieldworx staff got to have a little fun working out some of the logic behind the big day.

Program logic is a great tool to help with planning and evaluation, and the best thing is that it can be used by just about anyone to help them think about and better connect the dots between:

  • what’s really motivating an organisation, group or business (drivers)
  • available resources (inputs)
  • what’s done with those resources (activities)
  • what’s actually produced as a result of all that activity (outputs)
  • the real benefits of outputs for clients, stakeholders and others (outcomes)
  • the cumulative effect of those outcomes for clients, stakeholders and others (impact), and
  • practical measures of success.

So, if you’d like to learn more about program logic just contact us at Fieldworx or take a look at some of the resources available from the fabulous W.K. Kellogg Foundation.
